I was referred to Aspen by a mutual friend. ?Our first piece was my wife’s engagement ring. ?Of course, I had no clue about diamonds other than I wanted to make sure my wife’s friends would be jealous. ?Before I sat down with Aspen, I also shopped several retailers just to get an idea on price, shape and the setting I wanted. ?Aspen educated me on everything I needed to know about the diamond business. ?The 4 C’s, the diamond market, wholesale, retail and how to maximize my budget to get the best ring possible. ?Moreover, Aspen made sure he completely understood what kind of ring I wanted and how much I wanted to spend. ?Aspen is a true professional. ?He is patient, caring and knowledgeable. The day I picked up my ring I was completely speechless. ?The quality of my stone exceeded my expectations and most importantly ALL of my wife’s friends are jealous. ?Happy wife, happy life. ?Thank you Aspen for being a true craftsman and delivering a product that is second to none. ?We have bought additional pieces from Aspen and the result is always exceptional. ?We are your customers for life, I wouldn’t even consider doing business with anyone else.
We were shopping for a subtle silver jewelry, yet high quality eternity ring that I would use as a wedding band and were willing to spend “extra” for what I wanted, in terms of design/aesthetic. ?Honestly, though, we had no idea what we SHOULD be paying. ?You can be familiar with the 4 C’s, prices of comparable rings from other vendors, and still be taken for a ride…We bought a ring from a New York jeweler’s online site. ?The boutique is one of these Brooklyn “hipster” jewelers, inspired by vintage settings, raved about in various blogs, where they do everything by hand and use conflict-free diamonds and reclaimed gold. ?When we received the ring, it was much less spectacular in person, and the charm of a hand-set ring wears thin when you can see one of the stones is visibly crooked :-/. ?But, I still liked the delicate quality and vintage feel to the ring, which had fine milgrain work between baguette stones, something I could not find on other eternity bands. After having the ring in my hands, I also got the sinking feeling that the ring’s price was jacked-up by at least $500-1000. ?I know ecological conscience can be pricey, but this kind of mark-up was just mercenary…. ?Anyway, I knew it would be best to take the ring to a jeweler and get a professional assessment, but I didn’t know whom to trust. ?There are a lot of jewelers in the District, and I’m the sort who reads the bad reviews first and goes from there; every jeweler had some portion of bad reviews. ?I ranked three from Yelp, thinking I would just block out a full day to visit them all and then assess who I liked the most.Luckily, a friend recommended Aspen. ?Personal referral aside, I would have been shocked to read any less-than-stellar review on Yelp for Aspen Diamond after our transaction. ?The minute we walked into his office, we felt relaxed. ?We were not blinded by diamonds dripping from showcases, or intimidated by eagle-eyed sales people and bulky security guards. ?We were just offered a seat and asked what we wanted to do. I showed Aspen the ring and explained what I liked about it. ?He said he could custom create a ring with more carat weight and equal, if not better, quality stones. ?The milgrain would be no trouble. ?Was a week ok? ?(We actually were not in a rush, but it was all music to our ears.)The kicker: our final price was over $700 less, the ring was double the carat weight, and it was the same design. ?The double kicker was that when I returned the other ring to the Brooklyn boutique, I discovered they had “upgraded” their eternity band design to exactly the measurements Aspen had done, and the price of that ring was 2.5 TIMES what Aspen charged. ?No thank you!Aspen is gracious, knowledgeable, and kind. ?There is no neurotic game-playing or hard sell happening here. You won’t feel like a big dummy no matter what questions you have. Aspen has probably answered the basic questions of first-time/novice buyers a million times, but you’ll never feel like he has. ?Or, if you know your stones, I’m sure there isn’t a question he can’t answer. ?Most importantly, you won’t feel like you are being upsold so that he can make a few extra dollars. He is focused on what you want and what your budget is, and in our situation, he was just as happy to have helped us by getting us way under our budget. If you are still compelled to comparison shop, see whoever else is on your list first – go ahead and get it out of your system – and then see Aspen!
After my now husband customized my beautiful engagement ring with Aspen, there was no where else we wanted to go to get our wedding bands than from this wonderful diamond “guru.” ?My husband had no idea about what diamonds were good quality, or even what the differences were in cut, but after a couple of days with Aspen, it seemed he knew everything, from clarity to color to florescence. ?The engagement ring that was customized was beautiful, and I believe the best ring that I’ve ever seen (but I may be biased)!Because of the way that the engagement ring was made, a normal wedding band could not be flush against the band Sterling Silver Jewelry, so Aspen was able to help us design another custom ring. ?We were also worried that because my wedding band would not be the traditional band shape that my husband’s band would not be a matching set. ?However, Aspen was able to work his magic and gave some great ideas. ?Needless to say, they both turned out beautifully! I could not have asked for better quality bands. ?And, even though my band is shaped to fit the engagement ring and has diamonds, and my husband’s band is the a traditional band with only milligraining, they match perfectly and are still within both our different styles. ?Also, when I see other people’s wedding bands that have diamonds along the band, more times than not you can see a difference between the color of each diamond. ?Aspen did a great job color matching every diamond not only on my wedding band, but also on my engagement ring, so every diamond on both are the same color and composition. ?I have gotten many compliments on how my wedding set sparkles!Aspen is such a great guy, and is an amazing diamond specialist! ?I couldn’t ask for a better person to trust with the two pieces of jewelry that I will wear for the rest of my life!
If you are looking for a diamond, you need to look no further!!! ?THIS is the place and the MAN (Aspen) to go to.Aspen is an amazingly great guy who is honest, sincere and trust worthy. ?He made our diamond buying experience not only smooth but so pleasant. ?He has amazing diamonds that no other jewelers had at great prices that most people cannot beat. ?Even if you think you can find a better deal, the quality of Aspen’s diamonds and his service is unbeatable. ?My fiance and I looked around at a lot of places but we read some reviews about how honest and great Aspen was so we decided to give it a shot and we don’t regret it. ?Neither will you! ?We can’t wait to come back to purchase the bands from him. ?I have gotten so many compliments for my ring and Aspen is the reason why. ?He is also very responsive through emails. ?Let him know your budget and what you are looking for and Aspen will deliver. ?I have never written a review before but I just had to for Aspen so other people can know what a great place and guy he is as we are so grateful to have discovered this treasure and will keep coming back.
ASPEN IS THE BEST!!!!! ?I searched six (6) months for my fianc’s stone… ?I wanted it to be perfect!! ? I went EVERYWHERE Sterling Silver Necklaces!!! ? Robbins Brothers, Jewelry Exchange in Tustin, Downtown LA, the Mall, etc…. ? Everyone was trying to sell me crap, or it was RIDICULOUSLY overpriced… ? Not Aspen… ?What I appreciated most about Aspen is that he educated me on the diamonds and didn’t just try to sell me something… ? That’s VERY Rare in the diamond business. ?Walk into any of the above mentioned retailers and you’ll be hounded within the first 30 seconds… ?B.S. like, “you’ve already made the tough decision of deciding to marry her… now finding the ring is the easy part…” ? ?PLEASE….. ? Aspen provided me with options in different price points, cuts, colors, clarity, carrots, and ultimately it was my decision. ?After I picked the MOST PERFECT Stone, I got to custom design a one of a kind band! ?I didn’t have to worry about my fianc having the same generic ring as some other chick… ?NOPE!! ?Her ring is ONE of a KIND!!! ?Just like She IS!!! ? You’d be foolish to go anywhere else…
Aspen Diamond Company is a great place to get a stone or a ring. ?If you have someone in mind who is going to do the setting, you should still consider getting your stone from Aspen. ?His inventory, customer service, and price point is unbeatable. ?I was referred to him by my jeweler. ?When I told them what type of ring I wanted and the type of stone – they told me there was only one guy who could give me the best product around. ?I was skeptical. ?I really was. ?But after shopping around and finally going with Aspen, I can see why and understand the respect he has earned in the cut throat jewelry industry of Los Angeles. ?This guy’s the real deal. ?Don’t bother with a retail engagement ring store or other diamond dealers. ?You’ll get burnt. ?Go with a guy like Aspen who loves personal references and treats each one as a new member of his own personal family.
Pros:- Brilliantly beautiful quality diamonds- Flawless settings- Unparalleled service- Endless customization options- One-stop-shopCons:- May be difficult to find street parkingThere is no where else you need to go if you ever want to get a great diamond at a reasonable price with a transparent dealer. Aspen is one of a kind. He was very honest and accommodating to my design specifications and budget. He educated me about the industry and had absolutely no pressure to make any decision. His service was exceptional and the diamonds were just stunning. I’m not a diamond expert but the brilliance was blinding and my fiance was speechless. He was able to even re-size it for no cost. My aunt who frequents Beverly Hill jewelers was flabbergasted at the quality, which exceeded her own collection.
I cannot say enough about Aspen. In an industry that is cold and full of fast sale men, Aspen is just the opposite. Having a list of the top 5 stores, I walked into Aspen Diamonds as my first stop after reading the reviews on Yelp. I wasn’t expecting a office and the owner sitting in front of me, but Aspen greeted me with a smile and handshake which is key for me to start a good business deal.I told him that I found him online and was looking for an E-ring. He said that he was a loose diamond wholesaler, but he showed me some pieces that he made custom for clients. Aspen put me at ease by giving me his background in the industry and philosophy of doing business. I took a good look at his custom pieces and really liked the work that I saw. I felt they were high craftsmanships and Aspen eye for quality impressed me. I told him what I wanted and found the ring that I like from his online catalog and the type of diamond I was looking for. He told me that he didn’t have anything in stock with my criteria, so I was kind of disappointed. But I was there to shop around anyways so I thanked him for his time and he said he would call me soon as he got the diamond for me. I went shopping around and got some prices and different settings, without any custom work the prices where on the high end of my budget. I e-mailed Aspen as I was leaving the jewelry district and was looking forward to hearing from him. He replied the next day and said he found the diamond I wanted and asked me to come in when I had time. Most other shops were pushy and said they can’t promise if the diamond would be here if I came back, but Aspen held the diamond for me. On my second trip to Aspen I had to be quick, my godmother came with me and she works for a wholesaler ring manufacture. I asked her to find out ?from her contacts about some diamond prices EVS1 VG VG Princess cut. When Aspen showed me the diamond and it was beautiful, then he told me the price and I was blown away he came in lower than any other prices I got including my godmother contacts. We discussed about customizing my ring setting from the original that I saw on his online selection. He carefully showed how he planned to do it and he told me he would go to his master jeweler and CAD this ring out. A few days later he told me the ring went into production. When I got the call to see the ring, I was excited. When I saw the ring for the first time, I was speechless. It was so much more than I expected, it looked better than imagined and the craftsmanship was gorgeous. It is a true one of a kind ring with unconventional settings. ?The side diamonds were larger than the sample ring, which I didn’t mind. The price for the setting was almost half the price of the other stores.Aspen is any individual who has the experience you want from a diamond wholesaler and keen eye for quality for custom work. ?Clean and clear like his diamonds. Individual attention with high quality craftsmanship custom work resulted in a beautiful ring and experience. No hassle, no hard sale, just simple and straight forward. I would not go to anyone else.
My fiance found out about Aspen through his brother-in-law. ?He had heard that Aspen had a superior selection of loose diamonds and made beautiful rings. ?Daniel knows how particular I am and wanted to find someone that could create exactly what we were looking for. ?Aspen was that person. ?Daniel met with Aspen in January and found that Aspen fully understood ?the description and was able to produce an absolutely beautiful ring. ?Daniel proposed around Valentine’s Day and tied the ring with a pink ribbon around my cat Winnie’s neck. ?I was so amazed at how breath-taking the ring truly was. ?It was more than I could have ever asked for!! ?There is not a day that goes by that I don’t look down and admire it. ?I get compliments all of the time!! ?My manager even stopped a meeting a work to comment how she couldn’t stop looking at it! ?We recently met with Aspen to talk about our wedding bands. ?I am so excited to see how the band will look with my engagement ring! ?Daniel was able to find a ring that he really likes and is excited to see it!
I recently purchased an engagement ring from Aspen Diamond Company. ?Buying an engagement ring can be very stressful but creating a ring with Aspen could not have been easier. ?He understood that this was the first diamond I had purchased and he went about explaining how to examine a diamonds cut, clarity, and color. ?He helped me create a ring that was better than I ever thought I could afford. ?After leaving Aspen Diamond Company I was positive that I had purchased an amazing ring for a wonderful price. ?I know if I had gone anywhere else I would not have been as satisfied. ?Aspen even texted me the morning after my engagement wishing me congratulations. ? In the future I will always buy my jewelry from Aspen Diamond Company.
I recently went looking around the LA ?jewelry district looking for the perfect engagement ring. ?Before I went I did all my research online using pricescope, bluenile, browsing forums, and reading tutorials. The prices online are great but I wasn’t very comfortable with the idea of looking at pictures of a diamond online and having it mailed to me so I could check it out. ?I thought after all that research it would be easy to find what I was looking for but I soon found out it’s a tiring and frustrating experience. ? ? ?If I found a diamond I liked it would be out of my price range and if I found one within my price range it would have inclusion on the table or a bad cut.I went to a total of 11 stores to look for a diamond but no one had what I was looking for at the right price. ?I was frustrated and just standing outside smoking when I ran into a random person and just started talking to him. ?His name was Rafi and he said he was a diamond setter and he invited me up to his office to have a look at the type of work he does. ?He did amazing work but I was looking for a diamond first and not a setter . ?He said he could refer to me to a diamond wholesaler that he uses named Aspen. I was pretty skeptical because I ran into this guy randomly and he just offered to forward me to his supplier but I went along with it hoping to find what I was looking for.I walked in and his office wasn’t like a typical retailers office. ?All he had was a desk, a safe, and a GIA certification on his wall as a certified gemologist. There were no lights that make diamonds shine brighter, no displays, and no brochures. ?His whole business was based on selling loose diamonds. ?He had hundreds of diamonds in stock in all sizes and colors. After talking with him a bit he showed me what he had and told me what makes a diamonds price go up or down from the wholesale value which is determined by the Rap report. ?It was very informative. ?Personally for me cut was the most important followed by color and clarity. ?When diamonds are priced most people just look at color and clarity but a well cut diamond at a lower color will shine more in the real world than a higher color diamond with a poorer cut. ?That’s where the wide range of prices come in. Aspen then showed me what he had and the prices he could offer and he even emailed me GIA certs (some stores wouldn’t even let me take a picture of the cert with my phone) so I could see all the the specs including depth%, table%,crown angle, and pavillion angle. ?I went online compared the prices and nothing was even close to his prices. ?I then took a list of diamonds he sent me and put them into the holloway cut adviser tool on pricescope to see where the diamonds rate. ?The tool rates light return, fire, and scintillation. ?Its not the end all to be all tool but it does a pretty good job in helping you eliminate the diamonds you don’t want. ?After that I went back to take a final look at the diamond and purchase it. ?Aspen was great and could not have made the purchase any easier. ?He was very patient and responded to every request with honesty and integrity, which I think is hard to find in the diamond/jewelry business. ?After getting the diamond I just wanted the simplest white gold setting so we could change the setting out after I propose and he got it set in 30 minutes at an incredible price.Overall I wish I had met Aspen sooner because it was very easy and the prices were unbelievable and it would have saved me a lot of trouble. If you are looking for a high quality diamond without the sales pitch or gimmicks at the best prices I would only recommend Aspen.
