This is a nice boutique store with some nice clothes and accessories. ?The store is beautifully decorated and there is plenty of things to buy. ?The staff was friendly to me, contrary to some of the other reviews I read on this place, I was treated warmly. ?Prices are on the fair to above fair side, but considering I got personalized service and was in and out quickly, this is a good boutique clothing store.
I really like this cute little boutique on Franklin Avenue. It’s great to live within walking distance so that if I have a wardrobe crisis, I can skip on over and maybe find something new for the night.They have great sales. There’s a $20 rack and usually all of the last-season clothes are on sale as well. Every time I go in half the store will be on sale. Only thing I’m not too fond of is how overly-friendly the salespeople are. Sometimes a gal just wants to shop and be left alone. But the associates here insist on handing you clothes to try on and remind you repeatedly about the sales. While they’re friendly and usually not pushy and I appreciate the effort, I think I’d rather be left alone unless it appears that I’m shopping for something specific.
Every time I foolishly come into this store, my hopes of a friendly staff & quality clothing continue to diminish. I just came in for the last time as the two staff never greeted me, never acknowledged me, or offered help. I just left the gym, and wasn’t dressed up, so perhaps it was the “Pretty Woman” syndrome… little do they know I have an extremely successful career in the entertainment industry & have a lot of influence on possible celebrity clientele… this is the part of Los Angeles that makes me cringe…. be careful how You treat people… I don’t suggest this establishment…
Here’s the thing: If you have the desire to dress like your celebrity but lack the budget – THIS store is for you. I love, love, LOVE this store!! Located across the street from the Scientology Celebrity Center (that fortress is hard to miss), Native sits amongst restaurants, a vintage bookstore, a coffee shop and The Upright Citizen’s Brigade right off of Franklin Street. ?While this store won’t make you laugh like UCB, it will most definitely make you smile. ? The headless manaquins in the window reflect the “California cool” style that if found on all of the racks and shelves inside. Some brands you will recognize and some you won’t. ?But you’ll definitely find an excuse to bring at least one item to the dressing room.I lived down the street from this boutique for years and it quickly became my “go to” place in LA. ?Need a cute dress for a wedding? Native. Meeting your boyfriend’s parent’s for the first time? Native. Need an outfit that will have the door guy opening the velvet rope and let you right in the club b/c you look so amazing? Native. ?No matter what the occasion, Native is the answer. ?It’s THAT kind of store! And the best part is – - – you can afford it! ?Did I mention the $20 rack? That’s right L.A broke beoches – - – a $20 rack! Holla!! Love this place.
I had a horrible experience here sat night. ?I walked in and the girl working was basically laying ion one of the racks, and she and her friends were going on and on about how they knew Lauren Conrad or some bs like that. They were fully blocking two sections so I couldn’t even squeeze by to look at the clothes. ?When I tried to ask a question I was not even acknowledged. ?They were rude and stuck up and I will not be shopping here again.
First of all, when I made up my mind to check this store out, I couldn’t, for the love of God, find any information in any of the reviews regarding parking. SO HERE IT IS: PARKING: is street only but I’ll tell you right now it is not easy to find it right in front of the store. I had to park around the corner (not the corner near Gelson’s but a residential area) and I found parking there. I guess it depends on what time of the day or what day of the week you go but do not park where Gelson’s is because those lots are reserved for their own stores. There is street parking there, though.Clothes: I admit there are some cute clothes here. I didn’t think the $20 rack was so *out of this world* as most women here put it but maybe we all have different tastes. It had OK styles but honestly, they’re really not worth more than $20 anyway so you’re not getting a bargain. Inside, however, had cuter clothes. But just like I figured, they were much more expensive. I’m talking about $30 t-shirts and $78 shawls. I’d say the price inside ranges from $30-120 (?).The dressing rooms are pretty small. There is a small mirror inside so if you’re all about struttin’ your stuff in these dressing rooms, strut elsewhere. Jewelry galore but frankly, nothing really cute. They just had a lot of bangles and necklaces with leaf shapes or what not. Maybe all of this just isn’t my personal style because I didn’t find any of the jewelry very appealing.Service: I wasn’t offered any wine but maybe it was because everyone drank all of it (including the lady who was working there at the time). She was very nice when I first arrived but once her friends dropped by to say hi, off she went. I think I heard her as me once if I was OK but otherwise, I took all of my clothes to the room, I found my own room, and I got my own sizes. She just talked to her friends the whole time.The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars instead of five is because parking is a bitch, the clothes are pretty cute but on the pricey side, the service wasn’t very good, and the accessories aren’t very cute. I really wanted to find a new boutique I can frequent but I guess my search will just have to continue.
This store has great, on-trend, affordable clothing and jewelry. ?I love popping in here for a mid-week pick me up. ?AND the people that work here are always nice and helpful.
not a fan, the clothes are way overpriced for polyester. and the staff is not very nice. ?the $20 rack is great if you can find something good, but again it’s mainly polyester. ?i can’t believe people would pay $80 for shitty materials.
This place is really cute. They have a large selection of dresses and jewelry, as well as pants, skirts and leggings. I found a great little black dress at this store that I have received so many compliments on. The sales girls are super helpful and very low-pressure, which I love when I’m shopping and don’t know exactly what I want yet. Shopping here is laid-back, fun, and affordable. Check it out!
Native….one of those select clothing stores that inspire me to work hard and make more money, just so I can shop there. They have a great collection of small designers that have the perfect combination of hip and unique without the flash (a la Kitson), weird or cheap (like F21). Tops and dresses tend to range from the $50 to up, up and away–but nothing like having to mortgage your house. Also the perfect place to hang out while your guy friends are waiting in line to get into the UCB theater.But beware the $20 rack outside their store! Everything is a great deal, but they also slip in some tops from Forever 21 (and I know this for a fact, because I saw the label AND they had a top that I bought for under $20!!!) so you may not be getting the bargain you think you are. Ooooh, sneaky.
Open late$20 rack fulla cute stuffGREAT salesI found a fantastic dress here for 50% off that didn’t need a bit of alteration in my favorite color and just the softest jersey knit EVER with these darling little pleated details…Cute shoes for under $100 that actually don’t hurt like a mofo.Lovely and helpful staff.So I say yay.
I live in the neighborhood of Native and in the few years I’ve lived here have probably spent in the ballpark of $1000-1500 in the store. Even if I’m not planning to shop, that $20 rack sucks me in every time. I also kept going back because of the good sales and friendly/helpful staff who would do everything from setting you up with a fitting room to suggesting shoes and accessories to work perfectly with the new dress you’re buying from them. Their prices are on the high side, and the quality of the merchandise could be alot better (a few things have fallen apart on me quicker than something I could’ve bought for one tenth of the cost from F21) but, as someone who shops often and prefers small boutiques to giant chain stores, I don’t mind paying a little more money for good service and a great shopping experience. Today however Wedding Jewelry, was the opposite experience and it was the kind that makes me not want to return. The store were having a 50% off sale and a girl employee I hadn’t seen before seemed to be the only one in the store working. She was quick to greet us and tell us about the sale and the free wine being served, and based on the conversations she was having with other customers, repeating herself 3-4 times, we wondered if perhaps the employee herself was partaking in that wine.My friend, who’s spent triple what i have in the store and rarely walks out empty handed, found a dress she wanted to try on and I found 8 of them, and since the employee was too busy talking to some other people about the weather and how hungry she was to hear us asking if it was ok to try our items on, we let ourselves into the dressing rooms. For a store that is usually immaculate with attentive employees, I was shocked to see that both fitting rooms were completely filled with items that other people had tried on – at least 20 pieces per room, tossed on the floor, etc. The dress my friend tried on fit her perfectly and she fell in love with it, so she changed back into her street clothes quickly and got in line while I finished trying on my other 7 garments. There had only been a couple of two women being waited on when my friend got into line so when I came out 10 minutes later with the dress I’d wanted to purchase, I expected my friend to be checked out and ready to go. However, she was still in line, behind the same customers, while the employee did very little checking out and lots of ?talking to them about a spa one of them ran that she’d love to try out. She continued to repeat herself, over and over, which led us to discuss again whether or not she actually was drunk on the job. We continued to wait in line, occasionally one of us wandering off to check out a hat or a belt or earrings for another 10 minutes before the employee even acknowledged us saying “I’ll be right with you, ladies”, still checking out the same two women, still chatting them up (aka working it for her free spa visit). ?I spent a couple of years in my late teens working retail and can say for sure that it’s one thing to be genuinely helping a customer, but it’s another to neglect others because you are chitchatting and trying to score yourself a free spa trip. My friend and I discussed leaving the store without purchasing anything, but really did love the dresses we’d found and decided to wait it out. By the time she was finally finished, another 5-10 minutes later, we had put back a few of the items were were planning to buy in disgust and our patience was worn. ?We got an insincere/unfriendly ‘Sorry about that” from the employee without looking either of us in the eye. My friend, who is an agent at one of the 3 biggest agencies in town and therefore much more assertive/ballsy than I am, told her as she set her dress down on the counter, that we had put back some of the other items we’d planned to buy because of the extra long wait, to which the employee finally looked up at her and said “ExCUSE me??”, to which my friend said “Ya know what, I’m not going to get anything…”, which received a “Yeah, you should go” response from the employee as my friend was already on her way out the door. I set my item down on the counter as well and said “it really was more than 15 minutes…” and the employee rolled her eyes and said “I was helping a customer!” I thought for a second about asking her when she was heading the spa, but decided just to leave the store and never come back. As I walked out the door I heard her snicker about us to other customers. It’s definitely upsetting to be a treated poorly by any store salesperson, nevermind one from a store in your neighborhood that you’ve frequented and helped support by choosing to give them your business and money. I absolutely won’t be returning, nor will my friend, nor will our friends who we’ve shared this story with.
Their inventory changes constantly! Amazing selection, they keep all sizes well stocked as far as I could tell. Many styles and cuts to flatter all sorts of ladies.A rare shop where you can walk in with $25 or $450 and you will always find something cute to take home. Great rack of undies up front in fun colors- super comfortable, sexy and reasonable!
This is by far and away my favorite place to shop in LA. ?I’ve always been a boutique kind of girl–I practically started a catch-phrase in college, “I got it at a boutique in Bakersfield.” ?(I know that no real catch-phrase, popular movement, or trend has EVER been started in Bakersfield).After searching Larchmont, Montana, Melrose, Beverly, and 3rd, I finally found Native. ?They are really friendly and incredibly helpful, even helping me pick out Christmas presents for my super-picky family. ?On more than one occasion, my BF has gone in there with no clue about what to get me for a gift and somehow walks out with the perfect thing. ?Are these men and women at Native angels? ?I don’t know for sure…Native has some of the best prices I’ve seen. ?I was at a “boutique in Bakersfield” (see, it’s catchy) and found this awesome black tunic, I didn’t buy it because it was too pricey. ?I found it at Native (same brand) the next week for less than half the price and that’s before the all-store sale that they were having to celebrate our new president.If you’ve never been in, I definitely recommend it and let’s face it: it’s much closer than Bakersfield.
Really cute boutique with some great stuff at low price points. The quality is not forever quality, but the sensibility is good. I’ve done best with accessories here b/c of the quality issue.Am a bit bummed by the Forever 21 revelation. But, I no longer live near here, so, doubt I’ll be in much more anyway.
This pleasant little boutique is down the street from my apartment so I often check out their sale rack outside en route to the grocery store or to the coffee shop. While the style isn’t always to my taste, I almost always find something cute and inexpensive there. When not perusing the sales, I enjoy their unique vintage remakes located on a rack inside, as well as their accessories and modern couture. Some of the stuff can be a little pricey and some of the sizes run smaller, which is why I don’t always shop here. I have this problem that my dress size is a small-medium, but my bust size brings me to a large and sometimes even a large has got the buttons on a cute blouse wanting to pop out. Probably not good for more full-figured ladies, but perfect for petities and tall, skinnier types. Above all however, my favorite thing about Native are its employees. Always inviting and friendly; never snobby and pretentious. I always seem to have a delightful time chatting with them about random things, happenings in the neighborhood, and hearing the blunt, honest truth about whether what I just tried on looked bad or not.

Native is a very small clothing boutique in Franklin Village. It’s located right next to the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater and features the same type of trendy clothing you’ll see on Melrose or Main Street. Their selection is minimal, but occasionally, they’ll have some really cute stuff. The location is convenient and items are decently priced. Another plus is that they’re open late, so if you need to pick up something in a rush and wear it out, they’ll be able to accommodate you. Here’s something to look out for though (and why I only rated the store with two stars)…I question where they get their clothing from. I was perusing the $20 rack one day and saw some tops that I had seen the day before at Forever 21. This is purely speculation, but they were the exact same tops. The collar tags had been removed, so I couldn’t tell for sure. I know these shirts were selling at Forever 21 for $11. It just seemed a little fishy.However, I’ve popped in on more than one occasion, fallen in love with something and didn’t care where it came from…all I knew was I wanted it in my closet. So, all-in-all, a decent place for a focused shopping excursion, but, as with most of these smaller boutiques, keep an eye out for things that don’t seem quite right.
Say what you will, but this place is one of my favorite women’s clothing stores in LA. I love the styles, the selection is pretty good though it’s a small place, and the jewelry and boots have been some of the best purchases of my trendy career!!! (And I mean trendy lovingly, not in a groady way.) My BF and I went there one night after a perfectly delectiable time at Birds, and within seconds I was having a makeover by the owner of the store. My boyfriend watched in awe as they styled me to the Nth degree. I actually looked cute! They actually had stuff that looked good on my (then) apple shape figure. YEY! I can look cute even without a teeny tiny waistline. I’m not in fashion purgatory! I spent WAY more than I planned on, but I got 3 dresses, a pair of leather boots and a hat for $500! Their prices are REASONABLE considering you’re buying boutique clothing. You’re not gonna find this shit downtown or in Forever 21. No, it’s much better than that. And the compliments I get only reinforce my need to go back and get more stuff. For my money, i can afford to go here for some nice pieces and pick up my basics at a sweatshop store.
The $20 Sale Rack is where it’s at!I’ve gotten so many cute dresses and blouses and most recently shoes from the $20 Rack it’s almost too good to be true. Because they are constantly changing their stock most things go on sale pretty quickly so if you’re patient, and/or are willing to roll the dice and wait and see you can get just about anything for less than its original price. The downside is that it’s right down the street from my favorite watering hole La Poubelle, and it’s open late, which means that some drunken impulsive shopping has been slightly problematic for me, my beer goggles and my budget. My advice..shop with sobriety!
I have 3 words for you – 20. dollar. rack. Need i say more?Ok, yes. Some of the items inside of the store are a little (ok, more than a little) over my budget, but still cute none-the-less. Also, I know that employees in most boutique stores such as this tend to be snooty but I have to say that everyone that i have encountered in this store has been lovely and just as nice as can be – even if you’re only shopping off of the cheap-o rack!

I love the fact this place opens late. Everybody is super nice and welcoming, which is important. It’s a turn off when you have snooty sales people. They have amazing sales, i remember the whole store was 50% off, even the wonderful J brand jeans that i love. I was super excited. Plus, they always have a good sales rack outside their store. Great selection of clothes at a reasonable price and wonderful staff, what more can you ask for. ?Plus, you can grab a bite at birds and a drink before and shop til you drop at Native.
Upon entering this little boutique, I assumed I would be paying an arm and a leg for something…and was happily mistaken! Sure some of the merchandise was a bit spendy, but there were tons of cute dresses and tops that were under $50, and even a $20 rack of random stuff outside.The salesperson was super helpful and even told me about how the owner has bi-annual 50 percent markdown parties with a bar and dj, while adding me to their email list. He wrapped my selection in tissue paper and recyclable bag and sent me on my merry way.Native is open from 12 pm to 11pm! Perfect for when I need a last minute new outfit!!! LOVE!!!
I couldn’t help but go into this adorable store Men’s Jewelry! Walked in and was offered wine while I looked over fabulous dresses. Priced mostly between $78 and $114. But I found a steal at $20. Good fitting and fine quality.
Tottaly hip store for dresses and things in Hollywood. ?Right by Bird’s (one of the best restaurants in LA). ?Check out native next time you are in the area. ?love,alfie

Thank you Moye for getting the ball rolling of reviewing Native! This is by far one of my favorite boutiques in LA. The staff is super nice and they probably contribute to me purchasing something 90% of the time I go in there. Another reason is because the stuff is cute! There is a nice selection of moderate to expensive pieces, with some cool new designers as well as some tried and true ones. I also really like the jewelry & lingerie lines they carry. I love this place! Check it out.
It was hard for me to rate this place so I decided to write my review two ways. ?If you have money to burn, I give this place 5 stars. ?It’s a cool atmosphere, has cute, quality clothing, and a great staff. ?If you are on a budget, take a star or two off my rating. ?I thought it was rather expensive and while my boyfriend offered to buy me the cute dress I saw for $180, I declined knowing that I had seen the same dress in the garment district for $50. ?If that is pocket change to you, then by all means Costume Jewelry, shop there as the stuff is great. ?I will say however, that they do have a bargain rack out front that is very cheap like $20 bucks which is more my speed. ?So for those on a budget, check out the bargain rack or take your boyfriend! ?It is a cool place though:)
I have a love/hate relationship with this place. I recently was given the best sweater I have ever owned, and it hailed from Native. They regularly put a 20$ rack outside, and sometimes you can find adorable little items on it (and sometimes you can find a lot of overpriced-even-at-20-bucks damaged merch that has been able to move for the last two seasons). Beware of the bargain rack though–a lot of times the items on it do not last all that long, but for $20, who can complain? I have two rating scales for Native. If I didn’t live a few blocks away, I would probably think it was an overpriced version of sweatshop-fed ?knock-off trendsellers like Fashions of Echo Park or Forever 21. However, this place is fantastic if you live in the neighborhood (it’s near Franklin and Bronson) because you can run in an hour before you need to be somewhere and chances are that you will find something pretty cute to wear. So for last minute (”Oh my God! What the hell am I going to wear to this [insert random social for which you did not plan appropriate attire], Native is a lifesaver. I have gotten many adorable dresses there, and they have 50% of everything in the store sales around Holidays and season changes. But I also think that a lot of the clothing consists of over-priced and mass-produced stuff more so than the creative products of ?”small, up-and-coming designers.” One huge plus, is that the people who work there tend to be very nice (sometimes too nice–as I have seen them offer horrible advice to people trying on clothes–you know, like, “No, I can’t tell that you are 4 months pregnant in that bare midriff tube top, and orange looks amazing with your red hair–it really makes your eyes pop!” But they have good intentions, and most of the people who work there are nice.They are dog-friendly. It’s definitely worth stopping in if you are in the neighborhood.
Generally I find about 75% of their stuff fugly, but I have pretty simple, un-trendy tastes. The stuff inside is too expensive for the likes of me but after checking out the $20 rack for the 30th time (in 2 years of going to UCB shows), I finally bought something, a really cute black square scoop neck dress. Plus, the sales guy reminded me of Nick Swardson’s character on Reno 911….bonus.
I used to really love Native but upon further investigation, I think it’s pretty overpriced for what it is. When I lived around the neighborhood I would stop in all the time. ?Some of the clothes are cool and unique and when they have sales, they serve wine, which is the only thing that will get you through the madness of that place when it is packed with only three dressing rooms. ?However, their clothes never really fit me well- there is always a weird crooked seam or something tight in the wrong place. ?Plus, a lot of the stuff on the $20 rack is damaged and shouldn’t even be on there to begin with. ?My roomate also bought me a gorgeous pair of earrings for Christmas last year that I’m sure she must have paid a bit for, and they fell apart on me after 6 months. ?The only thing that gives this place three stars is the friendly staff.
Agree with both these reviews– Native is a fun little place with some great, cheap options. ?The staff is incredibly friendly and always makes me feel good about my choices. ?Also noticed the $20 Forever 21 connection, which is kinda lame and knocks the place down a star but I’m willing to forgive for my other kick ass purchases from here. ?They’re also open rather late so if you go to UCB or out to dinner at Birds, etc, you can enjoy some late night, booze soaked shopping… probably a bad idea but me and Paige enjoy it!
Amazing selection. Stylish clothes, friendly people, nice vibe. The $20 rack is the best thing. Everything inside is beautiful but a bit too pricey for me. But the outside rack keeps me coming every week because their selection changes so frequently and who can say “no” to a $100 item for $20…that’s usually the case with the “rack”.

This place has some great price points, which usually translates into buying something whether you’re in a spendy mood or not. Great place to go to after having lunch at Birds or Prizzi’s. Good selection of dresses, tops, and jeans. The owner is great too, I came by after they had closed, and she opened the store up for me! Note: that’s the only private shopping experience I’ve had so far.
I found this place while looking at apartments in the area. It has since become my secret go-to for affordable beautiful designs. Yes the $20 rack has gifted me with a few awesome pieces that I wear regularly

This boutique on a popular block of restaurants and shops in Hollywood has location and vibe going for it, though the music is a bit loud. ?Staff is very nice too. ?But the clothing is just not there. ?Let’s start with the $20 rack mentioned in numerous reviews. ?Some cute stuff, yes, but they look like the very cheap items sold in the fashion district downtown. ?I suppose you can’t argue for $20, but I rather not have more fall apart pieces no matter what they cost. ?For the regularly priced items, prices are decent, meaning most items under $100- dress, shirt, sweater, hat, etc. ?Many labels are local LA designers, but the quality doesn’t seem high and nothing seems to fit. ?So maybe it’s just me, but as much as I want to like Native, it just doesn’t fit.

I love Native! ?As said previously, their $20 rack is amazing! ?Basically when they need to make room in the store for new merchandise, BAM the $20 rack fills up with great goods! ?They also have random sales which make shopping there worth every penny. ?I have gotten numerous cute dresses here that I get tons of compliments on. ?Their owner/buyer has a great eye. ?If ur short on cash and need a stylish outfit, head over to Native! ?There are tons of other cute restaurants and stores on that block “Franklin Village”, so it’s fun to grab dinner and shop – plus they’re open late! : )

On more than one occasion-I have bought something which had a hole in it, at first I thought it was not a big deal, bc the stuff is cute & the price is pretty reasonable-but even Forever 21’s quality lasts longer & is cheaper. Bottom line, for the items which seem pretty inexpensive, the quality is terrible-esp after a wash or two. You can find the SAME stuff for less money & possibly better quality elsewhere. The sales staff seemed little concerned with anything other than making a sale….
